I am the owner and managing director of Information Automation Limited (IAL), a company that specialises in research, consultancy and training for the information profession. We are particularly interested in all forms of electronic information resources (e-journals, e-books, etc) and I teach a course in electronic publishing at the Department of Information Studies in Aberystwyth. Drilling down still further(!), my interests centre on the quality and evaluation of electronic information, and in the thinking that underpins activities in library and information science.

    The case for blogs

Library Stuff has a posting that shows the importance and power of blogs. Walt Crawford agrees with its author that 600 feeds is not excessive! The point is that you select your feeds and, where possible, customise them so that you only have to scan stuff you want to scan.
I see it as a big improvement on having to remember to visit a mass of websites to check for new information, and with a feed reader you can do this without blocking up your mail client.
