I am the owner and managing director of Information Automation Limited (IAL), a company that specialises in research, consultancy and training for the information profession. We are particularly interested in all forms of electronic information resources (e-journals, e-books, etc) and I teach a course in electronic publishing at the Department of Information Studies in Aberystwyth. Drilling down still further(!), my interests centre on the quality and evaluation of electronic information, and in the thinking that underpins activities in library and information science.

    Tagging - Wanabo experiment

I am experimenting with user tagging within this Weblog. According to their site, "Wanabo helps you build an effective and alternative window into your site using tagging. Its the easiest way to bring the power of folksonomies and the 2.0 Web to your online presence."
This means that every post ends with an initially-blank rectangle in which readers (and I) can insert tags. This is social information management, or user tagging in action - or, it will be if anyone tags!
Note that this is in addition to the Technorati tags that I already insert.
The down-side is that it increases the length of my Weblog page.
