I am the owner and managing director of Information Automation Limited (IAL), a company that specialises in research, consultancy and training for the information profession. We are particularly interested in all forms of electronic information resources (e-journals, e-books, etc) and I teach a course in electronic publishing at the Department of Information Studies in Aberystwyth. Drilling down still further(!), my interests centre on the quality and evaluation of electronic information, and in the thinking that underpins activities in library and information science.

    BCS EPSG Seminar

Well, you never know what's going to crop up! I have just been invited to speak at a meeting on e-books that I had half thought of attending as a delegate ... so now I'll have to go, which is good, as it should be an interesting meeting with papers on Google Print, Information architecture, RSS and DOIs, openURLs and on Print on Demand. And me! I have offered a paper on the librarian's perspective on collecting e-books - problems and issues. I understand that most of the audience are likely to be publishers so this may well be something new, and even controversial for them. Or not!
The meeting is on March 1st at the BCS Meeting Rooms in Southampton Street, London.
